Conduct of Research

The Undergraduate Research Office at Carnegie Mellon University fully supports responsible conduct of research, promoting the highest ethical standards and accountability. There are state and federal regulations, institutional policies and professional codes that must be met. For NSF and NIH funded research, there are specific requirements. All students engaged in Undergraduate Research, either individually or as part of a research group, should access further information at our Research Integrity and Compliance Office website.

The website provides valuable links to requirements for any and all projects funded through NSF and NIH, including a link to on-line required RCR training.  In addition, the website makes additional information available on this complicated and important subject.

Please take the time to read carefully and consult with your faculty member about RCR.  If you have further questions, please contact the Research Integrity and Compliance Office for more information.
