Ceremony Information for Graduating Seniors, Families, and Friends
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 13–15, will be busy days filled with many ceremonies and festivities. Below you will find a curated list of ceremonies that our most relevant to the Undergraduate Economics Program Community. For the complete weekend schedule, please visit the Carnegie Mellon University Commencement Weekend website.

2022 Senior Leadership Awards Ceremony
An invitation-only event.
Dietrich College Honors Ceremony
Open to all qualifying students and their families/guests.
Date: Saturday, 5/16/2022
Time: 9 a.m.
Location: Cohon University Center, Rangos Hall
Notes:
- Qualifying students and their parents will receive an invitation in the mail beginning in mid-March and continuing throughout the term.
- So that our students may celebrate their achievements with both colleges, our program chooses to recognize our honor students during the Dietrich College Honors Ceremony and to celebrate graduation with the Tepper School of Business.
Department of Statistics & Data Science Diploma Presentation Ceremony
Open to all.
Date: Saturday, 5/14/2022
Notes:
- Students earning the B.S. in Economics and Statistics may receive their diploma at either the Department of Statistics and Data Science diploma ceremony or the Tepper School of Business diploma ceremony.
- Students who opt to receive their diploma with the Department of Statistics and Data Science are invited to attend the Tepper School of Business diploma ceremony and reception.

University Commencement Ceremony
Open to all.
Date: Sunday, 5/15/2022
Ceremony: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Geisling Stadium
We encourage families and friends to arrive at Geisling Stadium by 9:00 a.m. because seating is first-come, first-served. If anyone should need special accommodations, please consult the Carnegie Mellon University Commencement Visitor webpage for more information.
Graduating students should report to Tepper Front Lobby by 10:00 a.m. in cap and gown so that we may begin the processional to the stadium at 10:15 a.m.
Notes:
- Caps and gowns are required.
- Diplomas are not awarded during this ceremony; they are awarded during the department diploma ceremonies.
- We recommend that you arrange a post-ceremony meeting location for the graduate and family and friends. From there, please proceed to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall. The university provides a complimentary shuttle service between the Carnegie Mellon University campus and Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Winchester Thurston School. The on-campus pick-up location in on Margaret Morrison Street.
Department of Mathematics Sciences Diploma Presentation Ceremony
Ttickets are needed for admission.

- Students earning the B.S. in Mathematical Sciences and Economics receive their diplomas at the Department of Mathematical Sciences diploma ceremony.

- Students earning the B.S. in Economics and Mathematical Sciences receive their diplomas at the Tepper School of Business Undergraduate diploma ceremony.
- After receiving their diplomas with the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Economics students are invited to attend the Tepper School of Business diploma ceremony and reception.

Tepper School of Business Undergraduate Diploma Presentation Ceremony
Open to all.
Date: Sunday, 5/17/2020
Reception: Immediately following the main ceremony
Ceremony: 2:30 – 4 p.m.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum (off-campus at 4141 5th Avenue)
Graduates and their families and friends are invited for a light buffet-style lunch at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall beginning immediately after the main university ceremony ends. We ask all graduating students to report to Soldiers & Sailors by 1:00 p.m. in cap and gown.
