Tepper Magazine Spring/Summer 2019

The spring/summer 2019 issue of Tepper Magazine is now available.

In this issue, the cover feature highlights innovations in the health care industry that are helping to meet individual patient needs and improve overall care. Alumni C. Talbot Heppenstall Jr. (MSIA 1985), Sujal Shah (MBA 2004), Caroline Loewy (MSIA 1990), Amit Sachdev (BSIM 1990), and Katherine Kohatsu (E 1997, MBA 2005) discuss changes they are seeing in their roles in the health care industry. Faculty members Alan Scheller-Wolf, Sridhar Tayur, Andrew Li, and Linda Argote provide insights from their research.

The Enterprising Leaders column features entrepreneurial alumni Monel Amin (MBA 2005), founder of DiligenceVault; Angie Fetherston (BSBA 2007), CEO of Drink Company; Luke Schneider (MSIA 1993), founder of Silvercar; and Rob Southern (MBA 2017), CEO of Ascend Software. 

Alumni features include High Technology highlighting Christine DeFilippo (BSE 1990, MSIA 1994), in her role as Director of Operations at Apple. Service Leadership tells the story of how George Bennett (Ph.D. 1971) is helping patients manage diabetes with Good Measures. Industry Titan features Ajita Rajendra (MSIA 1978), Executive Chairman of A. O. Smith Corporation, and his views on successful leadership.

The Polymaths column spotlights five recent alumni who combine creativity and analytical prowess. MBA alumni Diana Cheung, Prativa Joshi, Justin Krauss, Kevin McEachern, and Nina Patel share their favorite room in their homes, their business icons, and a dozen other questions about their personal and professional lives. 

In the Emerging Insights column, we share recent research from Tepper School faculty members Tong Lu, Sunkee Lee, Alan Scheller-Wolf and Nicola Secomandi, and Ali Shourideh. Trending Topics features Christopher Sleet, Professor of Economics, Head of Economics, writing about causes of income inequality in the U.S. and the implications of policy decisions addressing it.
