Tepper Magazine Fall/Winter 2018

The fall/winter 2018 issue of Tepper Magazine is now available at magazine.tepper.cmu.edu.

In this issue, dedicated features highlight the Grand Opening of the David A. Tepper Quadrangle and explore the inaugural INTERSECT@CMU conference, an annual forum addressing the multidisciplinary challenges facing business and society.

The cover feature explores the story of the Tepper Quad and “The Business School of the Future.” Key individuals involved in the strategic planning and design process discuss how the move to the center of campus and the open, inviting concept fosters interdisciplinary partnerships, and how the tech-forward and flexible design of classrooms and collaboration spaces support the innovative curriculum to train tomorrow’s business leaders.

The Enterprising Leaders column features four alumni involved in entrepreneurial ventures: Jason Cahill (MBA 2014), Managing Director at McCune Capital; Eric Boduch (BS 1996), Founder and Chief Evangelist for Pendo; Courtney Williamson (Ph.D. 2016), CEO and Founder of AbiliLife; and Bharani Rajakumar (MBA 2011), CEO of TRANSFR VR.

The Polymaths column spotlights four recent alumni who combine creativity and analytical skill. MBA alumni Brendan Bergen, Grant Small, Samantha Speer, and Dan Wolff share the B-school memories that make them smile, their business icons, and a dozen other questions about their personal and professional lives.

In the Emerging Insights column, we share recent research from Tepper School faculty members Erina Ytsma, Aislinn Bohren, Benjamin Moseley, and Yan Huang.

We hope you enjoy reading these updates from the Tepper School and our outstanding alumni. Share your feedback at teppermagazine@andrew.cmu.edu.
