Tepper School MBA Ranked #12 in Bloomberg Businessweek’s 2018 Ranking

Released today, the 2018 Bloomberg Businessweek’s Best Business School rankings places the Tepper School’s full-time MBA program at #12 (up two spots from 2017).

The results are representative of four indexes of scoring: compensation, learning, networking and entrepreneurship. The indexes which were weighted based on feedback from students, alumni and recruiters.

The Tepper School scored 82.5 overall, as a result of the following index scores:

  • Compensation: 85.6
  • Learning: 81.2
  • Networking: 80.2
  • Entrepreneurship: 70.4

Compensation

Compensation was the highest weighted index (38.5 percent), and measured: payment following graduation, what current alumni are earning, and other financial incentives.

Networking

Networking, which accounted for 27.9 percent of the overall score, focused on the quality of classmate networks, as well as student and alumni interactions and achievements of the career-services office.

Learning

Learning (23.1 percent) and entrepreneurship (10.5 percent) rounded out the index weighting, and the learning index explored each school’s quality, depth, and range of instruction, and emphasis on innovation and problem-solving in the curriculum.

Entrepreneurship

The entrepreneurship index explored student perceptions towards starting their own businesses, alumni insights on how seriously entrepreneurship was taken at each school as a career path, as well as the quality of training received to launch a startup, and recruiters provided input on whether graduates showed exceptional entrepreneurial skills.

“We are excited about the upward movement and remain committed to providing a world-class education that prepares our students to be future business leaders and successful entrepreneurs,” Bob Dammon, Dean of the Tepper School of Business shared. “I would like to thank everyone in our community, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni, who contribute to the success of the Tepper School each and every day.”
