Bio

Sunder Kekre is the Vasantrao Dempo Professor of Operations Management. His expertise is in manufacturing and operations systems, with research interests in areas such as new product development structures and time to market, strategic costing of product designs, lean innovation and emerging global supply chains. Some of his recent work examines issues such as knowledge sharing in Enterprise networks, managing performance in large scale healthcare networks of Emergency Departments, and business analytics for customer service and innovation in coordinated demand and supply chains. Dr. Kekre has consulted and conducted field studies in Fortune 500 and other large organizations, including Bosch, Caterpillar, Chrysler, General Motors, H. J. Heinz Company and IBM. He is an author of several academic papers that have appeared in leading Journals such as Management Science, Operations Research, Accounting Review, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Production Economics, and Journal of Manufacturing Systems. He received a Bachelor’s of Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi and a Master’s of Science and Ph.D. from the University of Rochester.
