Winter Break Virtual Events & Resources
Departments across Student Affairs have created opportunities and resources for undergraduate and graduate students to stay connected to each other and CMU over the extended winter break period.
More opportunities will continue to be added to this page so check back often for events to take part in and ways to connect over the break.

It's a LONG Winter Break Drop-in
Feeling alone? Need to talk? This drop-in group for in-state, out-of-state and international CMU students focuses on providing connection and support during these difficult times. The space will provide information about coping with stress and loneliness. No commitment needed. Come once, come every week or whatever works for you! Zoom Link to Join
Gratitude Sessions
Practices in gratitude can help us regulate our mood, build our resilience and cultivate increased happiness and satisfaction. Join us to learn some strategies on how to be more grateful throughout your day, and for a weekly opportunity to practice and to share your gratitude with our CMU community. No registration needed. Join us when you can.
Mindfulness Room Weekly Check-In
If you miss taking a moment to relax in the Mindfulness Room, join us for a virtual check-in with the Mindfulness Room team. We'll start each session with a very brief mindful exercise, and then spend the rest of the time connecting and talking about our wellness - what has been challenging, what has helped, and the importance of just having good conversation and check-ins with other CMU community members.
The Power of Rest: Six-Week Restorative Series
What’s the secret behind having a happy, healthy and fulfilling life? It’s not such a mystery: it’s built of daily habits, choices, and a clear connection to the purpose in one's heart. So first we need to connect with who we are and who we are not.
In this six-week series, we will learn how to offer self-compassion in this time of uncertainty and challenge, practice resting an overactive mind and learn to be so that we can create healthy boundaries. We will also explore bite-sized tips to integrate into daily life and exercises that support moving through fear, anxiety and loneliness to reclaim power, peace and joy.
Do I need to join all six sessions?
Do I need to bring anything to this workshop?
