Media Bootcamp


The Steinbrenner Institute's Media Bootcamp series brings journalists to campus to help faculty and researchers better understand the needs of reporters and broadcast producers covering science and the environment. 

Spring 2007 panel participants included Nathalie Berry, field producer for WQED-TV's "On Q"; Regis Bobonis, managing editor of WTAE-TV; Mary Anne Vandevelde, a WPXI-TV producer; and Frank Gottlieb, news director at KQV radio. The journalists discussed their reporting beats and the challenges created by the brevity of broadcast news.

Carnegie Mellon’s Steinbrenner Institute for Environmental Education and Research and the College of Engineering will host five journalists at a special media panel designed to help faculty and researchers better understand how the media use online reporting tools to cover news.
