I began my career at CMU in 2015 and I oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all technology-related initiatives within the Division of Student Affairs with a deep understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, software development, Active Directory, and emerging technologies, to mention a few. Collaborate with various departments to ensure that technology solutions align with their business objectives and drive operational efficiency. Develop relationships with internal partners such as the Central IT Division to leverage infrastructure, software, and other resources as needed to enable our Divisional IT team to reach our KPIs and strategic goals. Work on project management activities and work-load prioritization, budget management, compliance and governance, vendor management, and user-support and training guidelines, among various others.

During my term, I would like to see Staff Council foster a stronger sense of community and collaboration among staff members, and provide an opportunity to all staff across campus to voice their needs and concerns, and to convert them into actionable items. To achieve this, I propose the organization of various social events where staff from different departments can connect, share experiences, and build relationships so that they can voice their needs and concerns. These gatherings could be virtual or in-person, depending on the circumstances. Moreover, create channels for staff to provide feedback and suggestions. Regular surveys or open forums can help identify areas for improvement and address concerns. Also, encourage collaboration across departments by initiating joint projects that enhance the staff members. For instance, pairing staff members from different areas to work on a common goal or problem-solving task. And, establish programs to recognize outstanding staff contributions. This could involve monthly awards, shout-outs during meetings, or specific accolades. Among a few other initiatives.

If I could possess a superpower, I would teleport for sure. Traveling around the world would be so easy and fast (No TSA lines or hassles, no waits, no cancelled flights, etc.) and the commute to work, home, or school would be literally instant. I would still walk to campus from the office though.
