Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley Celebrates the Year of the Tiger

On Tuesday, February 16, over 30 students, faculty, researchers and staff gathered to celebrate Lunar New Year. The Lunar New Year begins on the first new moon of the new year. For many Asian families in the Far East and around the world, the Lunar New Year is a celebration of change.

The evening featured various Asian cuisine and desserts, Chinese calligraphy, dumpling-making, red envelopes, and a Chinese song performance. The Silicon Valley campus was adorned with Chinese and Vietnamese decor, including lanterns and red envelopes.
