First Career Fair Held at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley Campus

In what will become an annual event, the first ever career fair was held at Carnegie Mellon’s Silicon Valley campus on March 11, 2010. The event attracted over 90 students and alumni from the Silicon Valley and Pittsburgh campuses of Carnegie Mellon University.

Representatives from 26 employers, ranging from high-tech companies like Nokia, Facebook and Apple, Inc. to research entities such as Lawrence Livermore National Lab and USRA-SOFIA, connected with attendees to describe what sets their institution apart from the rest.

Silicon Valley Campus faculty and staff are hopeful that the momentum and success of this event will translate into more attendance at next year’s career fair, with both companies and students.
