Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley Hosts Disaster Management Events

March 30, 2010 - The Silicon Valley campus was abuzz with innovation last weekend as the Disaster Management Initiative (DMI) held its first workshop. The focus of the workshop was to formulate ideas and projects to further communications and technologies serving disaster management and recovery. Further discussions of those ideas were explored in the CrisisCampSiliconValley held immediately following the DMI workshop.

Both events saw more than 120 attendees from over 60 companies, universities and government agencies brainstorm with each other and plan additional meetings and focus groups to develop new applications, policies and procedures for disaster management.
