Hosting Info Sessions-Silicon Valley Campus - Carnegie Mellon University

Host an On-Campus Information Session, Tech Talk, or Campus Day!

One of the best ways to get connected to our students is by hosting an information session or tech talk at CMU’s Silicon Valley campus. Guest speakers from various companies and organizations are invited to present on a range of topics pertaining to our students’ career development. This is an opportunity for you to introduce students to your company, acquaint them with your company’s culture, products, and services, and recruit talent for specific positions at your company, among other things.

Please contact CMU-SV’s director of career services Lauren Schachar at (650) 335-2844 or by email at lauren.schachar@sv.cmu.edu if you’d like to discuss information sessions in more depth.

Days and Times

A Career Services representative will work with you to find a time that is suitable for you and for students. While we will do our best to accommodate your request, we cannot guarantee that we will have space available to host your company on your preferred day and time. Information sessions are typically held during the evening as this timing works best for students and will therefore net higher participant numbers.

Fees and Logistics

Hosting an information session is free for employers and requests are handled by Career Services on a first-come-first-serve basis. We require at least two weeks advanced notice for all requests.

To get started with reserving space for an information session, please email lauren.schachar@sv.cmu.edu. Once we receive your request, someone from our office will be in touch within 1-2 business days to discuss and arrange your session.

All confirmed events will be added to CMU-SV's main campus calendar and on our digital display boards around the Silicon Valley campus. Someone from your company will need to provide our team with a detailed flyer highlighting who will be presenting, what will be covered, when and where the event will be held, and any other information you'd like to share about the event.  We also post details about your information session to social media and our weekly campus/internal email newsletter.

For more information about information sessions, please review the Information Session Details document. We look forward to welcoming your company to campus!
