Currently blockchain is being experimented with by many different organizations with specific needs and use cases across a variety of blockchain variants that make standardization difficult. The absence of an established and specific blockchain risk framework could be a detriment to the realization of the maximum benefits and possibly even a barrier to economic viability. This project seeks to answer how can we align existing norms related to security, privacy, identity management, availability and integrity of transaction processing within a blockchain to create a macro level risk framework and maturity model that enables companies to meet the assurance expectations of key risk-related stakeholders.
