This message is being sent to return to research plan owners with CC to the Associate Deans for Research.  Please forward to researchers and other PI’s listed on return to research plans as appropriate.

Dear Colleagues,

Please be advised that guidelines for human subject research conducted in person and on-site have been updated to account for the new 14 day quarantine requirements from the Commonwealth of PA following out of state travel.  This requirement was recently communicated via messages from the CMU COVID Coordinator and the Vice President for Research.  New versions of the guidelines and screening questions have been posted to the links below.

All Human Subjects Researchers should follow the new guidelines effective immediately.  Please forward to colleagues and other researchers listed on your plans as appropriate.

The primary change to the guidelines is a change in the screening questions and criteria.  Based on the new requirement from the Commonwealth of PA, we are requiring that research participants who have traveled out of state within the last 14 days be rescheduled for a later date.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Regards,

David Quinn, Ph.D.
Assistant Vice President for Strategic Research Initiatives
Office of the Vice President for Research
