Neocortex Allocations

Neocortex accepts allocation requests on a rolling basis via ACCESS. To get detailed application instructions, please email us at neocortex@psc.edu with a brief description of your proposed research project. For further information on the type of projects encouraged to apply, please refer to the “Neocortex Project Tracks” and "Neocortex Active Projects" sections. There are buttons at the bottom of this page that will lead you to both of these. For specifics on the ML layers supported by the Cerebras hardware, please select the "Cerebras documentation" button at the bottom of this page.

Informative webinar recordings are available and encouraged for your reference in preparation for an application. In the webinars, an overview of the Neocortex system and an update on the supported ML models and applications are presented. You are encouraged to review the recording, slides, and Q&A.

Please note the eligibility criteria to use this PSC resource free of charge:

  • Projects must be non-proprietary and awardees are, by default, wholly responsible for conducting their research project activities and preparing results for publication. In a few cases, members of the Neocortex team can be available to collaborate in a more involved manner.
  • To apply, you must be a researcher or educator at a US academic or non-profit research institution.
  • A principal investigator (PI) may not be a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student; a qualified advisor must serve in this capacity. Postdocs are eligible to serve as PI. Please contact us at neocortex@psc.edu if you have questions about your eligibility to apply.
  • Successful applicants will be required to abide by the Neocortex Acceptable Use Policy in order to gain access and use the system.
