Alison Day-Office of International Education - Carnegie Mellon University

Alison Day

Alison Day is one of OIE’s four Foreign Student and Scholar Advisors.  While born and raised in the Bay Area of California, Alison has recently moved to Pittsburgh from North Dakota. Alison was an international student and scholar advisor at the University of North Dakota, advising both undergraduate and graduate students. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from California State University, Stanislaus and holds a Master of Arts in International Communications from Leeds University, and a Master of Arts in History from Newcastle University.

Alison’s love of travel and learning about other cultures began during her study abroad experiences in Scotland, England, and Mexico. This developed into a vast appreciation of the globe and the “global village” it has become, taking her all over the world. To date Alison has traveled to: England, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Scotland, the Netherlands, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Mexico, Canada, Wales, the Czech Republic, Luxemburg, Belgium, Greece, Turkey, Japan, Hong Kong, and the list of places she wants to visit is endless.

Alison is excited to be part of the amazing OIE team and looks forward to supporting students and scholars during their time at CMU and in the U.S.  Alison loves anything to do with animals and coffee and has an app to help with any situation. She is the proud owner of a rescue pup named Einstein, and looks forward to exploring all Pittsburgh has to offer.
