Class of 2022

Haoliang (Billy) Zheng graduated with highest distinction from the University of Virginia in 2019 with bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Economics. His interest in quantitative finance sparked when he interned in the Fixed Income Division of Industrial Bank in Shanghai, where a colleague invented an automated trading algorithm to make profits in the bond market and greatly impressed Billy. During his time on the Fixed Income Research team, he independently developed a prediction model on China’s Treasury Yields Spread using PCA decomposition and regression analysis, and extended suggestions on Fixed Income trading strategy based on the model. With strong intellectual curiosity in quantitative finance, he joined MSCF program to further hone his quantitative skills and enhance his knowledge in financial markets. Upon completion of his graduate degree, Billy intends to pursue a career in quantitative strategy, trading, or risk management.
