Class of 2018
Elaine Chen graduated cum laude from Cornell University with dual degrees in economics and mathematics, and minors in real estate, business and east Asia studies. She was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society, a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Merrill Presidential Scholar Nominee. She graduated with distinction in all subjects and made the dean’s List every semester. Elaine interned as an investment banking summer analyst at RBC Capital Markets and returned as a full-time analyst after graduation. She provided analytical support relating to the structuring, underwriting and issuance of negotiated bonds; developed asset valuation models to analyze competing financing alternatives; and created VBA models to screen issuers and generate presentations. Additionally, she attended client meetings, prepared proposals, and supported compliance of transactions. Prior to RBC, Elaine interned as a Private Equity Summer Analyst at Oriza Fund Management Company. Elaine is a CFA Level III candidate. She is passionate about capital markets and hopes to further develop her quantitative analytical skills while pursuing an MSCF degree.
