Siyuan Warren Xu

Siyuan (Warren) Xu graduated from Renmin University of China in 2016 with a Bachelor of Economics in finance and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics & applied mathematics. He won 1st prize in the national Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling and performed several quantitative research projects in undergraduate studies. Warren received rigorous trainings in mathematical modeling, financial researching and statistical skills like text mining. He interned for 11 months as a quantitative research assistant at Qian He Capital Management, a leading hedge fund in China, where he applied statistical and machine learning methods to design, build and backtest quantitative trading strategies. He also interned for 3 months at the major Chinese investment bank Guosen Securities, and collected and analyzed massive unstructured data to build a public sentiment index. Warren joins the MSCF program to further develop his quantitative skills and market knowledge, seeking a career in trading or asset management.
