Class of 2018
Jacob Pekelis earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics/economics in 2012 from UCLA, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduating, Jacob spent over three years working as an associate for Warren & Selbert, a financial software firm. As part of his job, he improved and added features to Warren & Selbert’s proprietary ABC program, wrote customized macros for clients, assisted clients in using ABC to build financial models, and taught clients financial concepts with regard to leases, inverted leases, and partnerships. After gaining insight into new programming techniques, algorithms, and optimization methods through his work in ABC, Jacob decided to join the MSCF program in order to further enhance his knowledge of quantitative finance. He intends to pursue a career in algorithmic trading, strategy research, or asset management.
