Jingxin (Cynthia) Xi graduated with high distinction from Renmin University of China with a Bachelor of Science degree in statistics in 2016.  She is a three time national scholarship winner and won the Award of Excellence in the Munich-Re Actuarial Mathematics contest. Prior to the MSCF program, Jingxin interned in KKR Beijing, HUA-AN-LIANG-CHENG Quantitative Fund and Detecon, where she was exposed to various facets of the financial industry and applied the rigorous mathematical and statistical training she received in class to real financial market context. During her time as a quant analyst intern in summer 2015, she was responsible for designing tools for monitoring risk exposure in multi-strategy desks. For her graduation thesis, she endeavored to improve the HAR family model with investor sentiment factor and substantially increased the accuracy of estimation. Jingxin is a CFA level 1 candidate and has passed the first 5 actuarial exams for SOA. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a career in quantitative trading, strategies or risk management.
