Class of 2018
Jeremy Bacon graduated from the University of Michigan in 2012, receiving Bachelor of Science degrees in actuarial mathematics and economics. Afterwards, he started his career working for Sun Life Financial as an actuary. His first role was in valuation where he was responsible for calculating reserves for life insurance policies. In 2014, he rotated to a role in Asset Liability Management, where he helped control the company’s interest rate risk through duration matching. In 2015, Jeremy became an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and began the journey towards becoming a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). He completed the first exam in the Quantitative Finance and Investments track, which is where Jeremy discovered his passion for quantitative finance and in turn decided to join the MSCF program. Upon completion of his graduate degree, Jeremy hopes to embark on a career in portfolio management or trading.
