Lily Li
Associate - Strats & Modeling – Bank of America
I studied math and economics in college and worked in consulting for two years after graduation. I've always been interested in the financial markets and after two years in consulting I found that I wanted to do something more quantitative with more model building.
Describe your current role and the most fulfilling aspects of your job.
I am a front office quant at Bank of America in the cross-asset desk under Global Markets. I help traders with various daily requests, including extracting and backfilling data, back testing trading strategies and generating automated trading reports. I like the fact that I get to work with a variety of asset classes.
What are the top skills required for success in your role/job?
Programming- the ability to write efficient code is the top skill. Secondly is communication, as we talk to traders on a daily basis.
