Karen Lightman, Executive Director of Metro21, spoke at the Pennsylvania Intellectual Property Law (PIPLA) Breakfast Meeting on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. Lightman was joined by Lee Haller, Director of the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Innovation and Performance, and Annia Aleman, Civic Innovation Specialist at the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Innovation and Performance, to discuss innovation in the City of Pittsburgh.

Lightman provided an overview of Metro21 and its plans to research, develop, and deploy 21st century solutions to the challenges facing metro areas. Haller and Aleman described their work delivering strategic technology services and support to all city departments, fostering technology innovation in city government and the broader community, and facilitating efficient and effective city services by supporting data-driven decision making and continuous process improvement.
