Epting Presents on Nano-CT in Boston; Video Available

At the 2011 fall meeting of the Materials Research Society (MRS) in Boston, TPES lab member Billy Epting presented recent TPES work regarding 3D imaging of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) electrode at 50 nm resolution using X-ray CT. Epting described the imaging, which uses Zernike phase contrast to achieve its resolution on the porous electrode comprised mostly of carbon. He also discussed validation of the results, and some of the implications of this work. Co-authors of this presentation were Prof. Shawn Litster (TPES), and Jeff Gelb (Xradia, Inc.).
