Bio

A native of San Diego, California, Commander Christofk graduated from the University of California at San Diego in 2004 with a degree in Political Science, International Relations, and earned his commission in the US Navy from the Reserve Officer Training Corps.

A career Submarine Officer, he completed Division Officer, Department Head, and Executive Officer tours onboard fast-attack submarines in San Diego and Guam. He also completed a tour as Assistant Operations Officer onboard an Amphibious Readiness Group where he deployed with a Marine Expeditionary Unit. Over his sixteen years of service, he has completed six operational deployments to the Western Pacific and Middle East.

Ashore, he served on the staff of Commander Task Force Six Nine in Naples, Italy, as well as the staff of Commander Task Force Seven Four in Yokosuka, Japan. In these roles he led submarine operations and planning, working extensively with ally and partner navies to strengthen relationships across Europe, Africa, and the Western Pacific.

In 2016-2017, he attended the United States Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, where he earned a Master’s degree in Defense and Strategic Studies, graduating with highest distinction. He was recognized as the President’s Honor Graduate, graduating as number one of fifty students in the College of Naval Command and Staff.

In 2019 he was selected for submarine command. Following his fellowship assignment, he anticipates serving as a Submarine Commanding Officer.
