Director of Student Affairs, CMU Silicon Valley
As Director of Student Affairs, Sari oversees campus-wide programs and resources for all students at Carnegie Mellon in Silicon Valley. She found her home at CMU three years ago and truly enjoys working with the university's intelligent, hard-working, and innovative students. Born and raised in Silicon Valley, she enjoys sharing her stories about watching this area grow into what it is today, encouraging students to go beyond the walls of the campus to explore the beauty of the Bay Area.
Sari has developed a passion for working with diverse groups of students. For more than 14 years, she has had the pleasure of working with college students in a variety of different kinds of career fields including culinary arts, graphic and web design, animation, film, medics, and engineering.
In her spare time, Sari enjoys visiting the wonderful museums, beaches, and live shows in the area. On any given day, she can be found walking her big English Mastiff Walter around her neighborhood. Aside from work at CMU-SV, Sari and her husband, a brewer, have their own local brewing company, Bellpenny Brewing. Like most people in Silicon Valley, they like to work hard and take time to enjoy the beauty of where they live and in conversation with the diverse and interesting people that you continually meet at CMU and in the Bay Area.
