As marketing manager, Allison tells the story of the Integrated Innovation Institute through the website, social media, and print. She feels lucky that her role connects her directly to the exciting work of III's faculty and students. While on the job, you'll often find Allison on the hunt for news, student projects to film, and free coffee.
Outside of work, Allison is an avid traveler and aspiring polyglot; fluent in Spanish, she's slowly working to become proficient in French, Portuguese, and German. Prior to joining CMU, Allison spent three and a half years working in Tres Rios, Costa Rica as the director of marketing & communications for the outdoor non-profit Outward Bound. She enjoyed the adventure of promoting experiential education programs, where staff outings included rappelling waterfalls, trekking through the rainforest, and attempting to surf. In addition to conquering some fears, her adventures at Outward Bound made her realize that she loved working in the field of education and connecting people to transformative experiences. Allison's most beloved souvenir from Costa Rica is Oscar, a scruffy pup that she and her husband Jose rescued from the streets of Tres Rios just months before returning state-side.
