Online Application & Fee
To get started, create an account in our online application system. In the system, you will be prompted to pay a fee of $75 by either credit card or debit card.
In our online application system, you will be required to submit the following materials:
Your most recent professional resume or curriculum vitae
Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
Your three references can be professional and/or academic. Each reference will automatically be emailed a link to submit a letter of recommendation directly to our online system.
The video platform gives our admissions committee the opportunity to learn more about you beyond the written materials you have provided. You required to answer one question; the questions are randomized and are not something that you should prepare for.
Unofficial Scores Reports & Transcripts
You will be prompted to provide unofficial records of your academic transcripts and score reports. Please see the next section for information on how to submit official records.
MIIPS Applicants Only
The MIIPS portfolio is an opportunity to tell us your story. Showcase three to six projects that best illustrate your skills, talents, and interests. Your examples should speak to your problem-solving abilities, visualization skills, and overall level of craftsmanship. In each project, please briefly describe and summarize your contributions.
We accept photographs, drawings, videos and/or interactive presentations. Please submit your portfolio in our online application system as either a video (Max: 5 minutes) or PDF (Max: 20 pages).

You are required to send official versions either by mail or electronically using the following instructions.

GRE or GMAT
You are required to submit either GRE or GMAT examination scores. Please send your scores directly from ETS or GMAC using the following codes:

The average scores of our accepted applicants for the GRE are Quantitative: 159, Verbal: 155, and Analytical Writing: 3.5. The average score for GMAT is 600.
Waiver: You may petition to waive the GRE or GMAT requirement if you have already earned a qualifying graduate degree in the United States. For more information, please email us.
TOEFL or IELTS
Applicants whose native language (mother tongue) is not English must provide TOEFL or IELTS scores. We require a minimum score of 95 for IBT (with no sub-score below a 23) and a minimum score of 6.5 for IELTS.

Waiver: You may petition for a TOEFL/IELTS waiver if you have competed an undergraduate degree in the U.S. or if you are applying to the part-time program and have previous English-language work experience. For more information, please email us.
You must submit the official transcript(s) from any university you have attended. You can submit by:
- Mailing directly to the Integrated Innovation Institute's Pittsburgh address.
- Sending electronically via an official parchment service (e.g. Parchment.com). When using these services, please send to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Via a credential evaluation service - Required for certain transcripts*
The average GPA of our accepted applicants is 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
*If your GPA is not on a 4.0 scale, you must request a Course by Course evaluation. Two possible options include the ECE Course by Course evaluation through Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or the WES Basic Course by Course evaluation through World Education Services (WES). By using ECE or WES, you do not need to mail your official transcript.
How to Check Your Status
Admissions decisions will be posted, and you will be notified by email as soon as the committee concludes its review; typically 4-6 weeks after the close of the application deadline.
Information for Re-Applicants
We allow prospective students to reapply within one year of the original application term. We retain your original application on file and any components you submitted previously, including your transcripts, GRE or GMAT test scores, and recommendation letters.
To re-apply, please submit the following:
- An updated online application
- One additional letter of recommendation
- Any new test score reports for the GRE or GMAT
- Any new transcripts for classes or degrees you may have received
- An updated resume
As a re-applicant, we waive your application fee and encourage you to update your application with your most recent accomplishments, as the quality of the applicant pool typically increases each year.
