Where you live is part of your Carnegie Mellon experience.
More than 4,000 students live in first-year, upper-class, and Greek housing on parts of Carnegie Mellon's campus known as the Hill, the Morewood Corridor, and the Oakland Community. Most graduate students live in off-campus houses and apartments in the many neighborhoods surrounding the university.
Incoming First-Year Students
First-year students, including first-year international students, are required to live on campus.
Upper-class students, including international exchange students and transfer students, are encouraged to live on campus.
Living in on-campus Greek housing is an option for upper-class student members of Carnegie Mellon Greek organizations.
