Bio

Tim joined Carnegie Mellon University in November 2019 as executive director, Procurement Services. In this role, he oversees the university’s strategic procurement and other aspects of the university’s procurement needs. Tim is responsible for evaluating campus-wide spend analysis, strategic vendor relationships and procurement consortiums while ensuring the university’s sustainability, diversity initiatives and proper internal controls structure are reflected in procurement policies and practices.

Prior to joining the university, Tim was the director, Global Sourcing, Functional Excellence and Partner Excellence with Kennametal where he was responsible for driving policy and  compliance, process simplification and standardization, system improvements, and driving key supplier performance. He previously held the director, Global Sourcing position with Kennametal where  he was accountable  for excess of $1 billion in global spend. In addition, Tim has worked for GenOn Energy, Allegheny Energy / FirstEnergy, Latrobe Brewing Company (InBev), Sony (Display Device) and BMY Combat Systems.

Education

Tim holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, where he later graduated from the Supply Chain Executive Program. He has completed a Six Sigma Black Belt with Lean Tools certification thru Motorola University and the University of Michigan Business School’s Leadership 2000 Series.
