“You couldn't ask for a more diverse, thought-provoking look at cultures and societies in transition, or of cinematic styles in screenings intended to foster debate of the filmmakers' issues.” - BARRY PARIS, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival (CMU IFF) would not exist without the generous support of our donors and sponsors, who share in our mission to bring Pittsburgh the best in contemporary world cinema and to promote cultural exchange and expression through film, dialogue, and food. Individual donations play an integral part in supporting our festival's efforts in providing engaging opoortunities at our film events that encourage awareness, tolerance, and conversation amongst our audience members about the cultures and issues at hand.

More people than ever have a need for compelling storytelling that inspires cultural understanding and open, honest discussion. Your generous gift is deeply appreciated and will go directly towards:

  • supporting the only international film festival in Pittsburgh

  • bringing internationally renowned filmmakers to our events, including Spike Lee, Jonathan Demme, Laura Poitras, and Hanna Polak

  • Pittsburgh premiere screenings of outstanding films from around the world, which have previously included the Oscar-nominated films: Abacus: Small Enough to Jail (2018), 5 Broken Cameras (2013), and My Country, My Country (2007)

  • cultivating rich community events that encourages active participation from our audiences via Q&A with special guests, food receptions, and other interactive event activities

  • promoting the careers of young, aspiring filmkmakers through our Short Film Competition program
