Information for Students Making Oral Presentations

Powerpoint is the standard software for presentations.

Oral presentations are 12-minutes each with 3 additional minutes for faculty and student questions.

All student talks that we receive by June 15 will be posted on the meeting website. Please email your presentation to Patti Steranchak (pc0x@andrew.cmu.edu) with "Graduate consortium presentation" as the subject line of the email. Please name your Powerpoint file as follows: lastname_institution.ppt

Information for Students Presenting Posters

  • Your poster should be approximately 30” x 40” (about 76 cm x 102 cm). If you need more space, let us know. If you are transporting your poster, try not to fold it.
  • Your poster must include a headline strip that runs the full width of the poster. Include the title, authors, and affiliations on the strip. Title should be written in letters not less than 1” high.
  • Post the abstract below the headline strip (in the upper left-hand corner if your poster has two columns).
  • You may bring small 1-sheet copies of your poster, 8 1/2 × 11” (22 cm x 28 cm), to hand out to interested consortium members.
  • We will provide pushpins to use to mount your poster on the board.
