EPP's Cohon and Muller featured in Bloomberg Environment

CEE/EPP’s Jared Cohon, EPP’s Nicholas Muller, and MechE Head Allen Robinson published a letter about the costs of gas extraction in Bloomberg Environment.

Their findings conclude that between 2004 and 2016 natural gas production degraded air quality and resulted in 1,200 to 4,600 premature deaths, while boosting employment by about 94,000 new jobs.

“The fact that the impacts from emissions cross county and state boundaries is a clear indication of the need for federal management of natural gas extraction and use,” they write. “Our contention is that society must determine whether these trade-offs are, in effect, worth it.”
