EPP Research Cited in New EPA Standards
Recently released EPA emission standards for new, modified, and reconstructed power plants cited research from professors Ed Rubin (EPP/ MechE), Haibo Zhai, EPP graduate student Yang Ou and alumnus Peter Versteeg. The following research was referenced in Standards of Performance for Greenhouse Gas Emissions from New, Modified, and Reconstructed Stationary Sources: Electric Utility Generating Units:
- Opportunities for Decarbonizing Existing U.S. Coal-fired Power Plants via CO2 Capture, Utilization and Storage
- Comparative Performance and Cost Assessments of Coal- and Natural Gas-fired Power Plants under a CO2 Emission Performance Standard Regulation
- Water Use at Pulverized Coal Power Plants with Postcombustion Carbon Capture and Storage
