Whitacre receives funding to stop dendrite formation in lithium-ion batteries

Carnegie Mellon University energy experts Venkat Viswanathan, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, and Jay Whitacre, professor of engineering and public policy and materials science and engineering, have each received funding from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) to study the use of dendrite-blocking polymers in lithium-ion batteries. read more
