Student Resources

New EST&P students are encouraged to check out the Enrollment & Finances for New Graduate Students page on the HUB website. Additional information on graduate life at Carnegie Mellon is available from the CMU Graduate Education Office.

The EST&P program and most CMU classes now use Canvas as their online information system, and you will find academic, social, and professional information available there. All enrolled EST&P students are invited into the "ESTP Professional Resources" Canvas site and are encouraged to check this frequently!  Many resources such as the EST&P Career Guide are available on both this website and Canvas.  However, much information including onboarding materials, career and job postings, course and project forms, campus activity postings, professional information, technical reference information, and the like are only available on Canvas.

Career Services
Sign up with the Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC)  through Handshake, and take advantage of all the on-campus employer interviews, career fairs, resume blitz, and many other useful services.  Crystal Vietmeier is the career consultant for EST&P students. She holds weekly office hours in the EST&P student lounge for resume reviews, career search and interviewing strategies, etc.

Carnegie Mellon University Libraries offers many electronic titles, group meeting rooms, plus the convenience of the Sorrells Engineering and Science Library in Wean Hall. CMU Library Engineering Resources is a notable resource for engineering students.  CMU's Library subscribes to Environment and Energy (E&E) News, and this publication is a timely and accurate source for energy news. You must be on-campus (or connected via the library VPN) for full access to the news content .

The HUB is part of Enrollment Services. HUB staff deliver comprehensive services and counsel to students and families regarding financial aid, billing and payment, and registration and records.  The CMU HUB website consumer information page provides access to information that current and prospective students of the University may need in order to be informed consumers.   The CMU website also provides student consumer information linked on their Accreditation & State Approvals pages.

The Office of International Education (OIE) is the liaison to the University for international students, researchers, and professors. OIE is the official source for work authorization (CPT/OPT) and visa regulations.

University Health Services requires all students to submit health information and maintain health insurance while enrolled, including immunization records.  Information on insurance options can be found on the Student Health Services website.  For additional information refer to the 2019-2020 Graduate Health Guide.
