A. Balaji selected for Clinton Global Initiative University Conference

Current EST&P student, Ashwin Kumar Balaji, has successfully entered his project titled, "Solar Kiosks for underprivileged households in rural India" as a 'Commitment to Action' to the prestigious Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) conference held in Northeastern University from October 13-15, 2017. CGI U was launched by President Bill Clinton to engage with the next generation of leaders on college campuses across the world to tackle issues concerning Education, Environment and Climate Change, Peace and Human Rights, Poverty Alleviation and Public Health. The Commitment to Action focuses on providing energy access to rural neighborhoods while providing a platform for community residents to alleviate a host of social issues pertaining to the target community. Ashwin is currently working on this project with fellow EST&P students Nathan Cheng, Vasusenvan Nambeesan, Akshay Patil, and Civil & Environmental Engineering alumnus, Luke Dennin ('17).
