Applied Studies Project
The EST&P-Applied Studies degree, as described on the Degree Comparison page, requires you take at least 120 total units over three semesters. The total includes a minimum of 24 units of applied studies project coursework beyond the 96 units of core, concentration, and breadth.
The applied studies project requirement is satisfied by taking faculty supervised indepent study, master's project units, and/or pre-approved engineering project courses. Approved project courses include a number of regularly scheduled engineering classes with a significant project component (e.g. 39-605 / 606 Engineering Design Projects). The EST&P Project course number (39-660), and Masters Project / Independent study course numbers from the partner engineering departments, may be used when registering for faculty supervised project work.
