During Nakle's 30-year career, he has focused on the conduct of multidisciplinary environmental research programs.
Nakles' research focuses on the environmental management of manufactured gas plant sites; characterization and risk implications of reduced hydrocarbon bioavailability in soil and sediments; the development of innovative analytical tools to support environmental risk assessments; and the analysis of risk associated with the geologic storage of carbon dioxide in both saline aquifers as well as depleted oil and gas reservoirs.
