New soldering safety training module

EH&S has a new convenient online safety training module developed for all faculty, staff and students who perform soldering activities.  This training is for anyone who uses soldering processes with applications in plumbing, metalworking and electronics, including the connection of electronic components and wiring to circuit boards.

The course covers safety aspects of soldering materials and irons; reducing risks of chemical and electrical exposure, and fire; and soldering waste handling.  Anyone who performs soldering activities in their research, shop or work activities should take the online class.  Go to this link and select Soldering Safety:
