Universal Waste

The universal waste recycling program is required by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. The value of this program is for regulatory compliance, and recycling of materials that are banned from landfill.  The benefit if for proper disposal of non-regulated Chemical Wastes that should not be placed into the regular trash.  

Universal Waste includes:

  • batteries (lithium and alkaline)
  • fluorescent bulbs
  • oil (cooking, motor, pump)
  • pesticides
  • mercury containing equipment
  • paints
  • photographic solutions
