Carnegie Mellon University

Our Division

The Office of the Vice Provost for Education works with the Provost, Deans, faculty, and staff to address issues that affect the educational experiences of Carnegie Mellon's undergraduate and graduate students. These issues range from development or approval of new courses or programs, to assessment of educational programs and initiatives, and to leadership of university, regional, and national committees and councils that determine policy, disseminate promising practices, and respond to evolving needs of communities served by higher education.

The Vice Provost oversees offices responsible for developing innovative, evidence-based approaches to enhance student learning; strengthening student scholarship and engagement; and tailoring programs and services to meet the diverse needs of the CMU community. To achieve their missions, these units collaborate with CMU faculty, students, and staff; and higher education institutions, government agencies, and non-profit organizations across the globe.
