Epoching File
Epoching creates an .EEG file from a .CNT file comprised of pieces of the .CNT file that occur around the markers. You specify the size of the segment (time before and after the marker), and which markers to use. .EEG files can then be averaged around specified markers.
Click Transforms > epoch file
Select the mode
- While you can epoch by port/internal, it is suggested that you use the fixed event file. This will give a more accurate analysis, and will allow you to use batch files to automate the process for several subjects
- To use an event file, select Event File and select the event file you wish to use
Select the proper interval
- X minimum and X maximum determine the window arround the stimulus (or response) that you wish to epoch.
- For example, to epoch from 1000 ms before the response to 1500 ms after the response, enter -1000 and 1500 as X minimum and X maximum, respectively.
Click Set Sort Criteria
- select type and enter the markers you wish to epoch.
- In order to save hard disk space, we recommend that you create one epoch file for all stimuli, and one epoch file for all responses. You can sort by conditions when you average the epoch file later.
