Artifact Rejection

Artifact rejection is used to reject trials in an .EEG file where there is a spike or other artifact that may invalidate the average values. Select the reject interval, minimum and maximum uV levels that are acceptable, and the channels you wish to check .

Click Transforms > Artifact Rejection

Select the reject interval

If you do not wish to check the entire epoch, click User Defined and select the start and stop points

Select Time Domain and set the Min and Max uV levels.

Default is -50 and 50.
We usually use -100 and 100

Select the Channels you wish to Epoch.

Click Select
Double Click on channels you wish to check
Clicking Select All will activate all channels (and turn them green)
In order to facilitate batch files, we typically only check the 6 midline electrodes (FZ - POZ)
Whavever channels you decide to check, make sure that VEO and HEO are not selected as they will register as artifacts on nearly every trial.
When you have selected the proper channels, click OK

Click OK to run the artifact rejection

Since artifact rejection only marks which trials are accepted vs rejected, the original .eeg file is not altered. If you wish, you can save this as a new .eeg file or you can overwrite the old one.
