France – “Voyage à Nantes”

In spring 2018, undergraduate students enrolled in a revamped French course went to Nantes, Western France, where they explored the local culture and language to create a multimedia project. These student-created projects run the gamut of multimedia experience, ranging from an interactive website featuring the one of the city’s oldest artifacts, the Nantes Cathedral, to a virtual reality experience of “Le Grand Elephant,” a 60-foot-tall mechanical elephant, to an augmented-reality enhanced board game mixing the analog aspect of playing a board game (with cards, tokens, and dice) with 360˚ footage of Nantes.
