The Humanities Center is pleased to announce an upcoming lecture, “Less Than Zeros and Ones: Animation from Analogue to Digital” to be delivered by James Duesing, Professor of Art in the Carnegie Mellon University School of Art. Duesing’s work has been exhibited and broadcast throughout the world in such venues as The Sundance Film Festival, MTV, The Tate Gallery, PBS, the National Film Theater of London and Film Forum.  His work is held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

The talk will discuss various aspects of animation technique, as well as the changes wrought by the move from analog to digital methods of production and exhibition, and will include excerpts of Duesing’s work.
