Additional Major in Creative Writing
Carnegie Mellon's Creative Writing program is one of the oldest undergraduate programs in the country, and one of the few offering a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing degree. While studying with faculty members who are practicing poets and prose writers, Creative Writing students develop their talents in writing fiction, poetry, screenwriting, playwriting and nonfiction.

Additional Major in EnglishThe B.A. in English offers a three-fold approach to the study of literature, media, and visual texts. First and foremost, we train students in the careful observation and analysis of these texts: their use of language, sound, and visual images in creating meaning. For example, how do elements of a text such as imagery or metaphorical language shape an argument?
