One of the oldest programs of its kind in the country, Carnegie Mellon University's Creative Writing Program in the Department of English invites you to return to campus to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. We hope you join us for our series of panel discussions, opportunities to meet current students and reconnect with classmates and professors and, of course, a party.

October 25, Thursday

12:00 P.M. - Welcome Back: Location in “The Glad,” 260 Baker Hall
Come say hello.  We'd love to take your photo and see what you've been doing since you left us. 

2:00 P.M. - Tours of Campus: What Hasn't Changed?

7:00 P.M. - Hilary Masters Cocktail Party (Made possible by the Hilary Masters' Memorial Fund)

October 26, Friday:

2:00 P.M. - "What Can't You Do With A Creative Writing Degree?"  Panel: Featuring Laura Leigh Morris, Sarah Cypher, Meagan Ciesla, Clare Drobot. Moderator: Autumn Armega-Finger.

4:00 P.M. - Fiction & Poetry ReadingFeaturing Tom Sweterlitsch, David Koehn, Sarah Smith.

6:00 P.M. - Light Snacks: Location in “The Glad,” 260 Baker Hall

7:30 P.M. - Hollywood PanelFeaturing Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Laura Harkcom, Kai Yu Wu. Moderator: David Gross.

October 27, Saturday:  

11:00-12:30 P.M. - “Teaching as Writers” PanelFeaturing Neema Avashia, Emily Nagin, Allison Seger, Erin Tocknell. Moderator: Jane McCafferty.

12:00 P.M.  - "What Are You Up To?" Social & Book Signing (Catered by Spice Island Tea House)

2:00-3:30 P.M. - “Drag Queens and Political Junkies: The Unexpected Life of Nonfiction” Panel: Featuring Elyssa Goodman, Michael Gartland. Moderator: Jane Bernstein.

5:00 P.M. - Keynote Speakers Address: Featuring Elizabeth Currid-Halkett and Javier Grillo-Marxuach.

7:00 P.M. - Closing Party: Hosted by Sharon Dilworth, location at 5811 Howe Street, in Shadyside.
